There are a variety of factors to take into consideration when planning a window replacement project. While obvious ones include cost and preferences, some homeowners might really take everything into account, including the season. While you don’t need to typically worry about frigid winters in east Texas and northwest Louisiana, you do probably worry about the hotter summer months. Therefore, you’re probably wondering what time of year is best to replace your windows in this region.

Avoid the Peak of Summer & Dead of Winter

While this area may not experience the typical four seasons like other parts of the country, it does see some blisteringly hot summers. Therefore, it’s best to avoid replacing your windows in the hottest months of the year—June, July, and August—so that you’re not exposing your home to the sweltering heat. And while it may not get overly cold in the winter, there can be some random 40-50 degree days. Since you don’t know exactly when these cold fronts will hit, it’s best to forgo winter window replacements as well.

Spring & Fall Are Most Ideal

The spring and fall seasons are beautiful in east Texas and northwest Louisiana, which make them ideal times to replace your windows. Outside temperatures during these times closely mimic what you probably set your thermostat to, so you won’t overrun your HVAC system or feel uncomfortable as your old windows get taken out and new ones get installed.
